Girls and Corpses - Need I say more. By ninjacrayon  So I attended my first every Girls and Corpses Event. Being invited by one of my friends, I figured I would check this out. It turns out there were a few surprises I wasn't aware of, and a $5 cover charge to get all I can drink, and watch a few live music performances. Lets get this a move on! Walking up to Meltdown Comics, there was already a good amount of people. Everyone was very social, and snapping pictures. Getting inside they had the Alien Autopsy issue Signing, also a few Adult Film Stars signing their Hustler DVD's. There was also several little things here and there to look at. Though I am not into comics as other may be, this was the longest time I've ever spent in a fun store like that. Moving my way to the back, I caught two really fun bands, and enjoyed a few drinks. Met some people, and was handed a few things we like to call swag. I'd say everyone had a really great time, and this event was a success! I'll leave it at that and just post the pictures now. ...Read More »
There's a new kind of Blog in town. Sixteen X Nine By ninjacrayon If you love design, and looking at pretty pictures, you'll love this new kind of a blog. A good friend of mine named Jonathan Winbush started up a great reference site purposely for himself, but figured it would be a great way to give back to those who've helped him out over the years. Deciding he wanted to start this blog titled Sixteen X Nine, came to mind because blogs are popular, and he wanted a quick visual Graphic Designers Resource. Jonathan also loves referencing work to build influence from work he's seen, also since he tends to do work at several different computers it got impossible to keep track of all the links, so why not a visual reference. It started by compiling all his links he's come across, and started organizing. Ideally he comes across one or more new artists a day, but also he's got people now submitting their website to him, which he'll post. Throughout his freelancing jobs, other designers who have worked with him have offered a little advice. So rather then a get rich quick plan, he decided to share with everyone all the cool sites which he uses as a source. If you are wondering where the name came from, the answer is right in front of us in a way that it is spelled out. He builds all his Design Boards at 16x9 aspect radio. But that's not all hes got, there's even a few interviews up. Get the story from a few featured artist. They're fun to read, and interesting. So check it out for yourself. Its pretty fun just quickly explore. I'm guilty for checking out all the work. Also submit your own, or ones you love checking out. Bookmark: www.sixteenxnine.net ...Read More »

Content Insider #148 - The iGen
NO...Doesn't have a thing to do with "that" smartphone...or "that" store...or "that" tablet. It's the next generation. Kids and we mean little kids. That's what today's products are being designed for/targeted at. You happen to buy one...fine. Watch a little, little kid pick up a smartphone. He/she just uses it. They've come pre-wired and we're still trying to figure out how to IM. It's the IGen. They want it instantly. They want to use it instantly. Insider #149 - Game Demographics
The blood, gore, adrenalin challenges that were unveiled at E3 and enjoyed at ComicCon are fun to look at, easy to hold but are they really the games people want to plunk down their credit cards to own or rent time with? Seems as though the investors, the players who control the controllers have a different idea of a "good" game than the kids who develop them. While mobs of people play educational, informational, stimulating games our kid huddles in his room and mumbles "The Few, The Proud, The Gamers." Read More
